Grammar
Using a noun to modify a noun
- To talk about strawberry yogurt in Spanish, we use yogur de fresa. Notice that strawberry yogurt is yogurt. The flavor is strawberry, which is used as an adjective to describe the yogurt. Just as we put adjectives after a noun, when we talk about chicken soup of chicken sandwich we always say what it is that we are talking about and then describe it.

Durante el verano, me gusta comer el desayuno tarde, más o menos a las 9:30. Yo como pan tostado con mantequilla o cereal. Mi esposa come una rosquilla con queso y salmón. Joe y yo no comemos salmón. Cuando mi hija está en casa, todos comemos huevos, tocino, y pan tostado con mantequilla. A veces mi cuñado, Jos, visita y él no come nada. Sólo bebe café con leche. Y tú, ¿qué comes en el desayuno?
